Law Enforcement Agencies
A law enforcement agency may not contract with a company for the purpose of producing a reality television program. Law enforcement agencies are prohibited from authorizing a person to accompany and film a peace officer acting in the line of duty for this purpose.
Definitions
- Law Enforcement Agency
- An agency of this state or a political subdivision of this state that employs peace officers other than game wardens. Texas Government Code, Section 614.231(1).
- Peace Officer
- An individual elected, appointed or employed to serve as a peace officer for a government entity under Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, Article 2.12, or other law. Texas Government Code, Section 614.001(3).
