Personal Residences

No more than $25,000 in funds appropriated by the General Appropriations Act (GAA) may be used to purchase, remodel or repair a personal residence or living quarters unless the expenditures:

  • Are required by court order; or
  • Will result in increased safety, significant net cost savings or prevention of substantial waste; or
  • Are specifically identified in a capital budget in the GAA.

The governor and the Legislative Budget Board must approve expending more than $25,000.
