Releasing Held Warrants
Federal Funds
Federal funds are exempt from the warrant hold program, including:
- Payments made in whole or part with federal funds.
- Payments required by federal law.
The paying agency must release these warrants within 30 days of the payment date to prevent warrant offset.
- Review the TINS 6204: Held Warrant Report for Issuing Agency every day to identify any warrant(s) on hold issued with federal funds.
- Complete the Warrant Release or Reinstatement Request form (00-432) for each held warrant that includes any federal funds.
The assistance listing number (ALN) or appropriate federal statutory reference must be provided on the release form. Verify ALNs by searching the internet for the latest ALN listing.
