Hold Inquiry Screens
Payee Hold Information (PYHOLD)

The PYHOLD screen displays information for an individual or entity whose TIN has been placed on hold. The data is displayed in hold date order with oldest date first, and includes the hold source, hold reason and liability amount. The liability amount is displayed only to the Hold Source agency that placed the individual or entity on hold.

An individual or entity does not have to be set up as a payee in TINS to be set up on hold.

PYHOLD automatically calculates the check digit for a TIN.

Access

Access PYHOLD through the TINS Inquiry Menu (INQMEN) screen or Line 1 Entry. Inquiry by mail code is not applicable for PYHOLD.

Steps:

1. Follow the instructions for the INQMEN Menu

   –OR–

   Enter PYHOLD.(10- or 11-digit TIN) on Line 1 and press Enter.

2. Use the Direction Message Keys to navigate through the screen information.

Screen Field Descriptions

S (Select)
If 1 is entered in the S column and Enter is pressed, the Payee Hold Name and Address sub-screen will display.

HOLD NUMBER
Displays the 11-digit TIN that identifies the individual or entity on hold.

HOLD DATE
Displays the system-generated date according to the date the hold was set up in TINS.

EFF DATE
Displays the date that the liability occurred with the Hold Source agency. The Hold Source agency may change the date as needed.

SRC
Displays the three-digit number that identifies the Hold Source agency that initiated the hold record.

RSN
Displays a three-digit code indicating the hold reason. The hold source and hold reason must match an existing combination on the RSNINQ screen.

LIABILITY AMOUNT
Displays the amount of liability owed the state by the individual or entity, as determined by the Hold Source agency. This field displays only for the Hold Source agency.

REV DATE
This date is initially blank and changes only when the liability amount is updated.

REASON DESCRIPTION
Displays the description for the three-digit hold reason code.

HOLD SOURCE AGENCY
Displays the name of the Hold Source Agency.

NAME
Displays the name of the individual or entity on hold.

TIN
Displays the 11-digit TIN. This field is blank if the individual or entity is not set up in TINS as a payee.

DIRECTION MESSAGE KEYS
Displays page direction and program function keys.

Payee Hold Name and Address

The Payee Hold Name and Address sub-screen displays the payee hold name and address entered by the Hold Source agency. The address information will be blank if no information was reported with the hold.

Note: If the Hold Source agency chooses to report address information for their holds, then that agency is responsible for maintaining the address. The address information on PYHOLD has no relationship to a payee’s PYADDR mail code addresses.

• The HOLD NUMBER and NAME are carried over from the main PYHOLD screen.
• If displayed, the ADDRESS/CITY/STATE/ZIP and PHONE are as reported by the Hold Source agency. If not reported, these fields will be blank.

  Note: The Payee Hold Address is not associated with mail code addresses displayed on PYADDR.
