Becoming a Hold Source Agency

To begin the warrant hold process, the state agency or institution of higher education must be established as a Hold Source agency by the Comptroller’s office. Once established, the agency uses TINS to:

  • Set up hold records
  • Update hold debt amounts
  • Change a debtor’s name or address information
  • Release a debtor’s hold record
